The adapted school in Ulricehamn municipality, which is part of the Tingsholm school area, offers students with intellectual disabilities an education that is carefully tailored to each student's individual conditions - from elementary school to high school and adult level. The operation is based on the same structure as elementary school while encompassing special subject areas that promote students' motor skills, communication, daily activities, aesthetic development, and perception of reality. Here, every student has the opportunity to develop in a safe learning environment where participation, learning, and belief in the future are at the center.

RESPONSIBILITIES

As a support educator, you contribute to developing the educational activities so that they benefit each student's learning, development, and participation - both in school and in after-school care. You actively collaborate with educators and student assistants to create a safe and stimulating learning environment with the student's best interests in focus.

Your mission;

  • Support educators in planning and implementing teaching and activities that promote students' learning, participation, and influence.
  • Support student assistants in their professional roles in close collaboration with the responsible manager.
  • Be a stable and secure adult focused on creating good relationships with students, guardians, and colleagues.
  • Actively contribute to inclusive working methods and promote an environment where all students feel seen, safe, and included.
  • Implement working methods that align with the school's governing documents and the after-school care's special assignment to offer a developing and inspiring leisure time.

QUALIFICATIONS

We are looking for someone who:

  • Has relevant education as a support educator and experience working with students with intellectual disabilities combined with autism.
  • Has a good understanding of the school's and after-school care's assignments according to the National Agency for Education's curriculum, including values work, safety, participation, and learning.
  • Has experience working with students in need of extra adjustments and special support.
  • Has a driver's license.

Experience from adapted schools and good knowledge of the school's governing documents is meritorious. As a person, you are:

  • Independent, secure, and demonstrate a professional approach towards students, guardians, and colleagues.
  • Responsive, creative, structured, and systematic in your working methods.
  • Flexible and have good collaboration skills with clear communication.
  • Committed to contributing to a learning culture where each student's needs and potential are in focus.

The position is a vacation position and your working hours are allocated both in school and in after-school care.
